Geographic Society of Chicago (http://www.geographicsociety.org) is hosted a "GeoBee Reception" Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Ramada Inn, 780 North Avenue, Glendale Heights from 5 - 8 p.m. As a GSC board member I am honored to help host that reception. Congratulations to all of the students representing their schools in the 2011 Illinois State Geography Bee.

As a member of the 2011 Blue Ribbon Committee for One Hope United's (www.onehopeunited.org) Swing into Spring Blue Ribbon Fundraising Event Linda Mehnert has been busy soliciting auction items, selling raffle tickets and collecting materials for decorations. The event is April 17, 2011. OHU is a charitable organization with the mission "Protect kids; strengthen families."
